I have just been to show the proof of this picture to the proud owner. So pleased to have been allowed to draw this magnificent creature.
Also pleased to hear that his son is now showing the same level of character that his father did.

This is the last progress shot you will see of Carter before he goes for approval.
I hope you can see that his coat is finished and that work is well underway on his face.
Just stopped to show you this update before I start the final stretch.
I may also just have a coffee and take a step back for a while.
I have more progress to show you today. I have done some more work on his coat and his halter.

A quick update on the progress of Carter. This is a big drawing for me but still loving the challenge.
There is still work to be done on his coat but this is not a bad start.
All week the weather was wet, cold, wet, windy, did I mention wet? I got up early on Saturday and hoped that we would be lucky with the weather for the County Show as I was really looking forward to it.
The sun was shining but the wind was blowing….. hard!!!
We battled to try to put up our gazebo but it was impossible. Hubby and I got it half way up and the wind took us 12 feet away. We had to give up on it but we were very lucky that the organisers found a space for us in the marquee. (next to the cake stall…yummmmm).
Here we are all set up and ready to go.
I had a wonderful day chatting to lovely people, meeting some wonderful dogs and taking some great photographs. It was really busy and I also had a few commissions booked which is lovely.
I can’t wait to share some of them with you.
I also started a new drawing in between chatting to people and being otherwise distracted.
This drawing provided me with a new challenge as the skin of this monkey is not something I have tackled before. I love this little character though and hope you do too.
Fudge is a male javan langur. He has a shiny bright orange coat and wakes up most mornings with a ‘bad hair day’. I know how he feels!
Fudge is one of the residents at the Isle of Wight Owl and Monkey Haven and was definitely my favourite ….. I think
