Here is a quick catch up on my warm up drawing.
It is sometimes difficult to tear myself away from this one. I do love those eyes.

It was a good weekend drawing. Here is the finished Tinkerbell and happy to say the owners are happy.
Now what is next on the list?
I am making the most of feeling horrible this weekend by curling up on the sofa with my pencils and my tissues and lots of coffee.
This is the start of a new portrait following Flint and Simba. This is Tinkerbell.
I made quite good progress yesterday
I like to have a warm up drawing on the go. Something to get my fingers and brain in gear before I tackle any commissioned drawings. Just to make sure I am in the right frame of mind to produce a standard of work I am happy with……we all have off days.
This is current warm up drawing. His name is Akin and I was lucky enough to snap him at Marwell Zoo a few weeks ago. He is a stunning Amur Leopard and I just love the look in his eyes…..he knew it was nearly dinner time.
It has to be something fun to warm up
I finished this portrait before I went up to London but was too busy to post it.
This is Simba.
My pencils are red hot right now. I have another exhibition starting in the Roman Villa at Brading on 1st June.
More details soon
Art is a very personal thing. Anything an artist produces is part of them and it is hard to put so much of yourself on display. Life is about pushing yourself though and if you don’t you won’t get anywhere. Sometimes it means taking on big scary projects……like the London Pet Show.
In the weeks before I went from being terrified to excited and back again. I had no idea what to expect.
We packed the car and headed to London to set up our stand.
Here we are.
The light was a bit funny in the hall but you get the idea.
That is the most of my work I have seen in one place at one time and I am pleased to say everyone we spoke to loved it and I am going to be very busy indeed.
I hope you will be here with me…..it wouldn’t be the same without you.
At last we have sunshine warm enough to draw in.
Welcome to my studio for the day
Here is the starting point for today.
This is one of my favourite times to be a pencil artist. I can work anywhere.
